Hey, Portland – if you’re a fan of the buttons (and who isn’t), make sure you keep some time open between August 4 – 11. That’s when the National Button Society 2012 convention takes place here!
…In fact, if you mark Friday, August 10th in your calendar, then you can come see Susan and me doing presentations. She’s teaching a workshop on button jewelry, I’m teaching one on Kanzashi, and together, we’re doing a presentation on crafts for using up “poke box buttons.” (That’s a button-collector’s term for “non-valuable buttons we display at shows in big boxes for people to poke through.”)
Get all the details on the Oregon Button Society website, and I hope to see you there! (I also hope not to be fighting you for the choicest buttons. We can be nice about this, right?)

OMG, I did not even know that there is a button society! How amazing! I live in Germany – I am quite certain that there is no button society here. :-( But I handmake buttons and sell them … and I LOVE every kind of button. Maybe one day I can go to a button convention type of thing! How grand would that be! *yeeks*
Thanks for posting this! SO interesting!
