This post is an experiment with a new series, in which I ask creative people questions and they respond only in images. Our first interviewee is Hanna Andersson, who graciously helped me hone this idea into something we both hope you’ll enjoy.
(And psst: if you want a little more info on any image, mouse over it and see what pops up. That was Hanna’s brilliant notion!)
What are you thinking about most in your creative life these days?

All image in this post are by Hanna Andersson, used with permission.
What colors do you return to again and again in your work?

What do you collect, if anything?

What’s the one craft supply you wouldn’t live without?

How do you feel when you’re making things?

Mention one project from this year that you’re proud of?

If you had one creative wish for everyone, what would it be?

…And any creative advice to others who are inspired but don’t know where to start?

Did you like this interview? Would you like to be a guest for a future one? All you need is a library of images that represent you. Email me and we’ll talk!

Love it! The doll cracked me up halfway through. That’s EXACTLY how it feels when creating! Cool idea, lovely interview.
Thank you, Michelle! And, me too – that face says it all. :-)
I super like this! It’s so much fun. The only part I kind of wanted words was the last one…but even that is awesome to interpret. Pictures let YOU (the reader) do the answering in your head. Pretty fun!
You know what – you’re making me realize I forgot to mention the image tags. Oops! They were Hanna’s brilliant idea. You can mouse over any image, and she’s coded in a little pop-up message that shares her intent behind the photo. And I’m off to edit my post now! :-)
Thanks!
It sure was super fun to put together too, I just looove looking through my images (years and years of creativity documented). I anyone wants to know more there is a lot of information on my blog with starter prompts, idea lists and most of my projects.
Thanks Sister Diane, you rock!
LOVE this! The idea, the execution, the interviewee, and the pop-up messages. Genius! Simple, clear, and lovely. Encore! :)

I love this! What a fantastic idea!
Brilliant!!!! I love this twist on the typical question/answer interview format! What a better way to have creative people communicate their style and work than through pictures?! I got such a good sense of Hannah’s work and her joy is captured in every image. I want more!!! :)
This is an absolutely lovely idea. I adore it.
Brilliant idea! I LOVE this! I have to admit it left me wanting a little more because I’ve always been into words (the pop up messages were great! I’d have loved slightly longer ones though, personally), but this is such a creative idea and I hope you’ll keep doing these!
Oh.my.goodness! I LOVE this interview! It’s so fun & different from traditional interviews & since I’m more of a “visual” person myself, its right up my alley. :-)
I love, love, love this idea. And great first post in the series!
Oh, LOVE this!!
this is a BRILLIANT idea! I will be looking forward to your next “visual interview”!
Eliza

Me too! :-)
*blushing with joy*
That was really fun! I loved being introduced to a new artist in this way! “Well Done!” to both of you!
What a fun interview style! <3
LOVE IT!!
Hanna is so full of creative wonderfulness!!! This is such a fun concept, Diane!
That’s a really good idea, thoroughly enjoyed it!
This is an awesome interview, wonderful idea and well executed.. brilliant!
love, love, love!!! A perfect interview of a visual artist!
Leave it to you to come up with such a creative idea. I love it!
This is a clever idea…so glad I saw a twitter post to send me to your blog – I’ll be interested to see the interviews.
What a great idea! I loved this “interview” and think it will stay with me far longer than words.
I wanted to comment on this last night but replying from an iphone is ridiculous.
This is a great idea and I loved Hanna’s photos.
This is a great morning post to look at with my morning tea. Even bleary-eyed, I get it. Great idea! And a nice way to visually bookmark an artist. I have a sense of her work and whether I would return to it just from the visual interview.
This would make for a nice Monday morning post.
Hmmm… I like that idea a lot. I’ve had so many responses to my call for interviews, I’m really wondering how to get them all scheduled. Monday AM is a nice time. Thank you for the idea, Chppie!
LOVE it totally! Brilliant! We should do interviews of each other at Christmas this year!
You got it, Mom!!
What a creative new way to present an interview! I love Hanna and her work, and these images really capture her style.
Love this idea and looking forward to more!
The concept of using visual only interview is great. Can’t wait to see more of them.
What a great idea. I enjoyed this very much.
I love the idea in the last photo. I might have to fill a notebook with the color purple.
What a creative idea! Love it! A perfect interview of a visual artist!
Love from ihannas mom
iHanna’s Mom?! Oh, it’s so nice to meet you! I feel like there’s a celebrity in our midst – I’ve heard of you so many times on Hanna’s blog, and I still have a beautiful bag you made. Thank you so much for stopping by, Yvonne!
Love this! Super fun! I’d love to respond to this in dance videos, HA!
HAHA! Seriously? I’d be up for that. Wanna give it a try sometime?
