Hello there! I'm Diane and I have two grand passions: making crafts and making media. That's what I write about here, and sometimes, I get all thoughtful about internet culture and creative small businesses. Thanks for stopping by! Would you like some tea?

Jason and Shannon Mullett-Bowlsby run a successful knit and crochet design business under the name The Shibaguyz. When we started emailing about the possibility of doing a podcast together, I knew we would end up with a very meaningful and far-reaching show.

These two guys are talented, they’re smart businesspeople, and they’re very open about the ups and downs of their journey. They also don’t mince words when it comes to talking about how to grow and sustain a craft business.

I really like Shannon and Jason’s take on the ongoing learning of running a business, and on their dedication to staying aware of new opportunities that may show up. And they make an excellent point here: making things to sell is just one business option within the craft industry. There are far more opportunities out there than we may be recognizing.

Whether you’re a one-person shop, or you have designs on eventually hiring help and going empire, I think you’ll find some useful nuggets in this podcast.
