It’s kind of a pseudo-Friday, with the U.S. long weekend, but there’s time for Link Love even on a holiday. You’re welcome to join in the fun – just make a little post on your blog, sharing your five fave links from this week. Then come back to the end of this post and pop your link into the list!
A Painted Rainbow Fan, on Pink Stripey Socks
This charms the living heck out of me, not the least because the fan blades are actually painted red, yellow, and blue, and the movement makes the other colors! Big ‘ol box fan in my kitchen, I’m looking at you.
Five Reasons Your Indoor Photos Are Blurry, by me, at NYIP
My second post is up over at the NYIP blog, and it focuses on how to get sharper results with indoor photography. Like the previous post, it’s very non-technical and hopefully gives you some good ideas to try in your next photo shoot. Check it!
Customize a Lampshade with Inkodye, by Lumi, on Instructables
Oh, Inkodye, how are you so awesome? Lumi took a plain canvas IKEA lampshade and added a printed pattern, simply by painting this light-sensitive dye over the surface and then wrapping some lace yardage around it. With a little time in the sun, the pattern develops. I know, right?!
Dye Color Formula Guide, from RIT
From new-school dye to old-school, I guess… I didn’t know about this formula generator from RIT, did you? Choose from 500 colors, click on the one you want, and up pops a recipe for mixing a couple of RIT’s standard dye colors to make that shade. Neat!
Scrappy Lily Bowls, on Michele Made Me
Another beauty from Michele Pacey, and a great use for fabric scraps. The construction process for these is delightfully simple, too.
