Update: I'm sorry, I have to close this swap. We'll do another one next Christmas. I need to start saving up for more postage right now!

Some of you know that K and I make a "Christmas Digest" zine each year to send to family and friends. It's one of our favorite projects, and we always have a great time writing, illustrating, cutting, and pasting.

We're just now getting this year's edition into the mail, and discovered that we still have some copies of past years left.

…This got us thinking: we should trade these things for something we'd like. And what we'd really like is more Christmas cards!

Over the years, so many of our family and friends have stopped the card-sending tradition. I can see how card-sending might seem anachronistic in the age of email, but the truth is, we love getting beautiful cards in the mail at Christmas time. It's such a lovely break from the endless stream of direct mail desperation from our banks. (Ahem.)

So this is the trade we'd like to propose: you mail us a Christmas card, and we'll mail you a high-quality Christmas Digest in exchange. Feel free to specify a year, or we'll surprise you.

All these zines are packed with good stuff. I contribute craft projects, recipes, and fun histories of Christmas films and traditions. K contributes Christmas puzzles, stories, poems, and interesting articles about tech and learning. We're liberal with the novelty fonts and clip art, and the whole thing makes for a nice way to curl up with some cocoa on a cold Winter night.

If you're up for a trade, just put your Christmas card in the mail to this address:

You don't have to send a handmade card – we like storebought equally well. Heck, you could even use a card you had leftover from last year – how would we know? Write "Send me a zine" inside, and if you want, specify a year. And I'll put a zine in the mail to your return address the same day! Fun, right?!

(Yup, it IS kind of hilarious that I just happened to have a PC Christmas mailbox on hand to use as a photo prop.)
